New Project and Wedding in Devon

I was up in London on Tuesday to discuss a new work project, codenamed Carrier. It's not that secretive; it's just an internal system for dealing with processes around multiplex management.

Then on Friday we went to our friend's wedding in Devon. However, it didn't start too well. We departed Friday morning - roughly on time (the wedding was on Saturday), and shortly before we arrived, I realised I had forgotten to pack my son's bag of clothes - including his fancy wedding outfit. Suffice to say, Marie was not impressed, and I quickly dropped them off and drove the whole way home to collect them and got back sometime in the evening - a 5-6 hr round trip. That was the only negative of the weekend, the wedding was lovely - think festival meets wedding. One of the things I quite like about weddings is that you meet lots of random people. I tend to get chatting to Dads quite a lot these days, and no exception here, but lots of non-Dads too. Everyone was lovely - as a partner of the main guest (Marie was a bridesmaid), you often feel like an outsider, but not here. Henry really seemed to enjoy himself too, which was lovely to see. We had a babysitter for the evening, and she was great. We intended to put Henry down ourselves, but she offered, and although it took quite a lot of book reading, he eventually went off.
